The Lovelane Hoedown is an elevated fundraising benefit that unites Greater Boston’s philanthropic leaders for an unforgettable night in support of Lovelane Special Needs Horseback Riding Program. Reconnect with friends, host clients, enjoy cuisine from 15 of Boston’s top chefs, and celebrate with live music, dancing, and interactive fun. It is a high energy evening filled with purpose, community, and a few exciting surprises.
Leah has loved horses since she was little and spent most of her time riding and in a barn as a child and young person. She became a NARHA (now PATH International) certified instructor in 2003 and taught for many years at another therapeutic riding program in the area. While there, she worked with an occupational therapist who inspired Leah to attend graduate school at Tufts University, where she earned an M.S. in Occupational Therapy. For the last 14 years, Leah has been a school-based OT and currently works part-time for the Boston Public Schools in a K-6 school. She has had an extended hiatus from the horse world and is thrilled to be joining the Lovelane team. She finds tremendous joy in working with children and horses. She loves seeing the confidence that comes when a student works in partnership with a horse and the pride and sense of accomplishment they experience when new skills are acquired and goals are reached. Leah lives in Jamaica Plain with her husband, 3 children, and dog. When not working, Leah loves to run and be outdoors with her family, especially on the coast of Maine.
