The work of a therapeutic horse is both mentally and physically challenging. It takes a very special horse to do this important job and to help ensure the safety of our Lovelane riders.

What Your Gift Can Support

Your contribution will have a direct and immediate impact on Lovelane’s students and their families. Thank you!

Donations directly support Lovelane’s current operating budget, providing immediate support to our students, their families and our horses.

Matthew, our warrior, was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) at the age of four. It was a scary time for us then and continues to be as the future is uncertain. DMD affects Matthew’s muscles, resulting in decreased strength and stamina. Many sports and activities are challenging and can be damaging to his body. Lovelane provides a physical activity that builds his confidence, muscle tone and sense of pride, while still being safe.

Matthew has participated in clinical trials which have given us hope, but Lovelane has brought him happiness. Now thirteen, Matthew has been riding at Lovelane since he was five. Lovelane has played a critical role in Matthew’s overall wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Horseback riding helps Matthew build core strength and balance.

Matthew’s sister, Rose, began watching his lessons from her stroller. Rose is a carrier for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, has Autism, and is primarily non-verbal. She has difficulty ocusing on tasks and following directions. While happy and energetic, her limited social abilities and her difficulty keeping up with her peers make it challenging for her to participate in many group activities.

At age three, she started participating in Carrot Club at Lovelane, a social group, where she learned to interact with others and stay engaged while still having fun! Now at age seven, she is riding, which is her true passion. Her smile lights up and she comes alive whenever she gets on a horse. Lovelane has been there for her, just as it has been for Matthew.

Lovelane has become our second home and an extended family for both Matthew and Rose. We are forever grateful for the Lovelane community, including the amazing instructors, volunteers, and horses. I hope you will consider joining us in contributing to this wonderful organization. Without donations like yours, it would not be possible for children like ours to participate in Lovelane’s programs.

Donations provide direct funding to families who otherwise could not afford the base lesson price at Lovelane.

Susan McDaniel, an athlete, actress, and equestrian, was a student at Lovelane throughout her two-year battle with cancer. Susan passed away in 2004 at the age of 10. The Run for Lovelane, established in 1996, was dedicated in Susan’s memory in 2005. At the same time, the Susan McDaniel Tuition Assistance Fund was created. The intended purpose of this non-restricted fund is to support families who are unable to afford Lovelane’s lesson price of $136 weekly. Lovelane accepts children off the waitlist based on next availability, whether or not that family has the ability to pay. Once in the program, families may apply for tuition assistance. Forty percent of Lovelane families receive tuition assistance totaling $65,000 annually through the Susan McDaniel Tuition Assistance Fund.

A Board advised investment fund to help support the sustainability of Lovelane’s program.

The Stanley Sabin Sustainability Fund will provide Lovelane the financial resources to help fulfill its mission, diversify its funding and meet unexpected expenses in the future. Most importantly, it will ensure that Lovelane can continue to deliver quality programs for children with special needs today and for years to come. The Stanley Sabin Sustainability Fund has been named in honor of Lovelane Founder, Debby Sabin’s father, Stanley Sabin, who was a most beloved founding member of the Board of Directors, a renowned local physician and a strong believer in Lovelane’s ability to nurture and bring out the best in each of its students.

A non-restricted initiative to raise, save, invest and use the funds for the purchase of horses and the maintenance and upkeep of the property and buildings at Lovelane’s Baker Bridge home for years to come

In honor of the decades of support from The Fassino Foundation, Lovelane is pleased to announce The Fassino Fund. The intended purpose of this non-restricted initiative is to raise, save, invest and use the funds for the purchase of horses and the maintenance and upkeep of the property and buildings at Lovelane’s Baker Bridge home for years to come.
