Helene Power

Helene is a long-time Lovelane parent. Her son David, who was born with deaf-blindness and multiple disabilities, was one of Lovelane’s first students in 1989. David was a rider at Lovelane for 31 years.

Helene has a degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University. She attended Harvard Medical School for two years before leaving to be at home full time with her 5 children. Since 2017 she has been a volunteer at Perkins School for the Blind helping in the international and brailler support divisions. She has been a panel speaker at a Deaf-Blind International Conference and a contributor to the Perkins blog, Paths to Transition.

Helene and her husband Dave live in Newton, MA.
