In 2004, Lovelane hosted the first of what would become a signature fundraising event. A jeans and boots outdoor-tented event, managed by AE Events, a premier and experienced event company, is held on the private property in Wayland of one of Lovelane’s generous board members and features a well-known musical act and customized dishes by the area's finest chefs. The Hoedown is a biennial event. It is essential to Lovelane’s fundraising plan by both supporting our program and our sustainability fund.
The 2022 musical acts will be Barenaked Ladies and French Lick. Past Hoedown bands include, Peter Wolf of J. Geils Band, Greg Allman, Little Feat, Marshall Tucker Band, David Foster and the Mohegan Sun All-Stars, and Tedeschi Trucks Band.
World-class chefs including Andy Husbands, Scott Gubitose, Steve DiFillippo, Rodney Murillo and Keith Pooler, among many others, have donated their time, food and talent to provide guests with a gourmet experience. Chefs for the 2022 Hoedown will be announced soon.
An upscale jeans and boots event, featuring lawn games, including ax throwing, whiskey tasting, exciting raffle options, and live music. The Hoedown is not a formal, seated event. Instead, guests are free to move around, socialize under our large tent or outside around the fire pits, gather in our lounge areas, or play games with friends.
The event draws an average of 500-700 guests. Over the years, the Hoedown has enticed an amazing guest list of supporters who both revel in the excitement of the event and are moved by the impact of Lovelane’s mission and accomplishments of our participants. Major donors and attendees include philanthropist and financier, Kim and Jim Pallotta, Edward and Allyson DeNoble, Celtics owners, Wyc Grousbeck, Ted and Simone Winston, Courtney and Michael Forrester, Patriot’s owner Robert Kraft, actor Denis Leary, and comedian Lenny Clarke.
The Hoedown will be held at Wil and Priscilla Catlin’s home at Duck Puddle Farm, 48 Lincoln Road, Wayland, MA on Saturday, September 24, from 4-9pm. Parking is managed by attendants and will be easy for all guests.
