Come south of the border and fiesta for a cause at Hoedown IV on October 2nd from 4-9:30. Enjoy Tex-Mex temptations, and enough boot kickin’ melodies to fill three rodeos. The night will feature the Dixie-inflected funk boogie of Little Feat and local boys, French Lick. A strolling Mariachi band, piñatas, a hot-sauce ring toss and chance to pose amongst the cacti add to the spicy flavor of the evening. New England’s best chefs will transport you over the border with menu with a tangy baja flare. And best yet, we will be raising funds to support our program.
Polish your belt buckle and shine those cowboy boots….this signature Lovelane event only comes around every other year! Get your ticket before July 1st and DogWatch, Inc will donate an additional $50 to Lovelane.* Reserve your ticket at http://hoedown2010.eventbrite.com
*up to $5,000

It’s not too late to register. Join us on Sunday, June 13th for the 2010 Susan McDaniel Run for Lovelane to benefit our therapeutic riding program and tuition assistance fund.
We’re thrilled to announce that world class Triathlete, Karen Smyers will be presenting prizes to our race winners at the Run for Love this year.
Smyers is a seven-time U.S.A. Triathlon Elite National Champion and winner of both the Hawaiian Ironman World Championship and the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Triathlon World Championship in 1995, and is well-known for becoming the first woman ever to win both of these events in the same year. She has also won a national duathlon title, two world triathlon medals, and was also a Pan American Games gold medalist and a three-time USOC Triathlete of the Year. Karen serves as an inspiration and role model to all athletes through her coaching, writing, speaking, and by sharing her story of surviving cancer.
Additionally, Enza Youkilis (wife of Red Sox superstar, Kevin Youkilis) will be participating in the race and joining us on the stage to present the $25,000 matching gift from Kevin Youkilis Hits For Kids. Enza recently completed the Boston Marathon and is excited to run this race for Lovelane. Enza and Kevin are great supporters of children’s charities and join Lovelane in believing that every child can be an athlete. Enza and some of her friends and colleagues will run the race as the Hits for Kids team. Kevin will be at the other end of the phone to wish our runners well and start the race off!
Make your footsteps count and raise pledges for your run or walk! Every dollar you raise is doubled thanks to the match from Kevin Youkilis Hits For Kids!

For a second year, the Run for Love is generously supported by Kevin Youkilis’ Hits for Kids. Youk’s Kids is a charitable organization, founded by Boston Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis and his wife Enza, that focuses on the health and well-being of children.
The “Youk’s Kids Challenge” will match all funds raised for the Susan McDaniel Run for Love through race registration, sponsorships and individual fundraising and pledge collections.
Your donation is doubled, thanks to Kevin Youkilis’ Hits for Kids! Make every step a step towards putting another special child in the saddle.

Lovelane’s annual 5K run is coming in June! Register now to participate in this exciting family event on the Weston Town Green. Runners, walkers, supporters, friends and spectators are all encouraged to join us as we lace up our running shoes in support of a great cause. This professionally timed, USATF sanctioned run has become a big hit over the years and in 2010 we expect over 300 runners to join us. There will be food, music, face painting, prizes, balloons and a clown all waiting for you and your family. What a terrific way to spend a summer Sunday! The kids can enjoy a ½ mile Kid’s Fun Run or a Diaper Dash for the extra young athletes in the crowd.
Register to run at active.com and start your own fundraising through Lovelane’s First Giving page, collect pledges from your friends and family. All of the proceeds from the Run for Love help to keep Lovelane’s very special riders in the saddle by contributing to the cost of the therapeutic riding program and supporting the Susan McDaniel Tuition Assistance Fund.
The run was established in 1996 and re-dedicated in honor of Susan McDaniel in 2005. Susan was an athlete, actress and equestrian and rode at Lovelane throughout her two year battle with cancer. Participants carry on Susan’s legacy by raising funds for a program she loved and believed in.

The town of Lincoln, held its annual winter carnival festivities during the last weekend of January. Lovelane was thrilled to participate in this wonderful town event. On Sunday afternoon, we opened our doors to the community and invited all comers to pay us a visit. Over 60 people made the trek down Baker Bridge Road to check out the big green barn. Guests mingled and sipped coffee and hot cocoa while watching a lesson in progress. Lovelane staff conducted tours of the facility and introduced our four-legged friends to all. Children munched on homemade cookies and other treats while decorating bags and filling them with apples & carrots for the horses. The horse treats were delivered to the stalls to be enjoyed later that evening. Guests were able to watch a short video about therapeutic horseback riding and staff was on hand to answer questions that came up. We were delighted and honored that so many Lincoln residents braved the cold to learn about the work we do at Lovelane.
